This policy explains what information AiHope.com (“AI Hope”, “we”) collects, how we use it and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information you give us
When you use a form (newsletter, career plan, contact, contest, team inquiry, job application, pledge or story), we receive the details you enter, such as your name, email address, country, job information and message. Phone numbers are always optional. Form submissions are delivered to our team by FormSubmit, a third-party form-processing service, which processes the data on our behalf.
How we use it
- To deliver what you asked for: your career plan, replies, newsletter, contest administration or pledge follow-up.
- To improve our tools and content.
- To introduce you to vetted course providers, coaches or employers only if you tick the optional partner box. We never sell your personal data.
Your career-plan answers are processed in your browser to build the plan on screen; a copy of your answers is sent to us with your contact details.
Cookies and advertising
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message, provided through Google's certified consent management, before personalized ads are used.
Other third-party services
- YouTube: videos load only when you press play and use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once played, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
- Google Fonts: fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
- Hosting: the site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log technical data such as IP addresses for security.
- Analytics: if enabled, Google Analytics collects aggregated usage data.
Data stored in your browser
We store a few small preferences in your browser's local storage, such as dark mode, whether you've dismissed the cookie notice and when you last saw our newsletter offer. They never leave your device.
Retention
We keep form submissions only as long as needed for the purpose you gave them, and remove newsletter subscribers who unsubscribe. Contest entries are kept until the end of the contest season plus a reasonable period for record keeping.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA and provincial laws, or US state laws such as the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, use the contact form. We will respond within the time required by law.
Children
AI Hope is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Contests are open only to people aged 18 or older.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as identification numbers or financial details through our forms. We never ask for payment card details on this website.
Changes
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be shown on this page with a new date.
